Frequently Asked Questions

Who initiated the Gurdjieff Network and Why?

Luke Behncke initiated the Gurdjieff Network in 2022 to support collaborative and personal transformation grounded in the system brought by G.I.Gurdjieff. He is a practitioner who has been working with groups and individuals around Australia and the World since 2000.

Luke's blog site "Soul Creation - Faith made Flesh" explores some of the system of spiritual work brought by Gurdjieff and Christ, and Mysticism in general, as it relates to the creation of a Soul - the fundamental objective for any seeker of spiritual reality.

Who is the Gurdjieff Network for and What does it do?

The Gurdjieff Network is for anyone, at any level of experience, with an interest in the system of personal transformation brought by G.I.Gurdjieff. It is a network of mutual collaboration where practitioners support one another in studying the ideas, methods, exercises, music and sacred dances relevant to the system and their own lives.

There is no program or structured curriculum. Online and face-to-face meetings and workshops, in both individual and group settings, facilitate practical study. Sharing of experiences through disciplined and interest-driven search is the foundation for collaborative exploration.

The Gurdjieff Network is a network of people helping people. While physical gatherings and events are located in (though not limited to) Victoria, Australia, most meetings are held online.

What can I expect when contacting the Gurdjieff Network?

The Gurdjieff Network is a network of men and women, irrespective of background, who seek a deeper, practical meaning in living responsible lives - striving to become fully human; to live with purpose; and to share the sacredness of that endeavour within the conditions of modern life - acknowledging that this is very difficult.

If interested, contact the Gurdjieff Network with a mature, open and critical mind. Aim to challenge and verify everything for yourself, and accept nothing less than what you deeply wish for.
